Financial Accountability

Every contribution to Shield and Valor represents trust.

We take seriously our responsibility to use donor funds carefully and in support of the mission for which they were given.

As a young nonprofit established in 2026, Shield and Valor does not yet have multiple years of financial statements or IRS Form 990 filings available. As those records become available, we intend to make appropriate financial and tax documents accessible here.

Our financial practices include board oversight, documented financial controls, expense tracking, appropriate authorization of expenditures, and records designed to maintain accountability for charitable funds.

We are committed to growing responsibly and maintaining an organization where infrastructure and financial sustainability develop alongside our programs.

Measuring Our Impact

Outdoor experiences are the vehicle. Connection, resilience, restoration, and community are the outcome.

As Shield and Valor grows, we are building systems to measure both the programs we provide and the people those programs serve.

Our reporting will include measures such as:

  • Veterans and first responders served

  • Outdoor experiences and programs provided

  • Program expenditures

  • Cost per participant where appropriate

  • Volunteer involvement

  • Donated goods and services

  • Community and corporate partnerships

  • Participant feedback and program outcomes

We believe meaningful impact should be demonstrated through more than stories alone.

Beginning with our first annual report, Shield and Valor will provide a public summary of our programs, financial activity, accomplishments, and progress toward our mission.

Our Approach to Wellness

Shield and Valor Foundation is not a medical provider, counseling practice, or crisis intervention organization.

We use hunting, fishing, outdoor recreation, retreats, peer connection, and time outdoors to create opportunities for connection, reflection, resilience, and renewed strength.

When appropriate, we support connections to qualified professional resources.

Our goal is not to replace professional care. It is to create meaningful opportunities for support, connection, and resilience before people become isolated or reach a point of crisis.

Our Commitment

Shield and Valor is still a young organization.

We view that as a responsibility to establish strong practices from the beginning.

As we grow, we will continue improving our governance, financial reporting, program measurement, safety practices, and public accountability.

We will not measure success simply by how large Shield and Valor becomes. We will measure it by whether we responsibly serve veterans and first responders, steward the resources entrusted to us, and build an organization worthy of the people and communities who support it.

Honoring Service. Restoring Strength.
